What Your
Session
Looks Like.
Every assessment runs in the same sequence. The order is deliberate: non-fatiguing tests come first so each result reflects true capacity, not accumulated fatigue from the previous test.
Stand on the Seca platform barefoot. The scan takes under 60 seconds, using a low-level electrical signal to measure how different tissues conduct electricity. Height and segment lengths are recorded at the same time and used to contextualize every force and velocity output that follows.
Move through a set of fundamental patterns: bilateral squat, single-leg squat on each side, hip hinge, and overhead reach. OpenCap's cameras capture your mechanics in three dimensions as you move. We review what gets flagged before moving to the next test.
Stand on dual force plates and perform a series of jumps including countermovement, squat, and reactive variations, with multiple attempts and rest between each.
Sprint through timing gates at 10 meters, 20 meters, and 40 meters with full recovery between attempts. Top speed flys are also run, where you take a rolling start and hit the gates at full velocity.
Wear a mask connected to the analyzer and cycle through progressively harder resistance stages on the Lode bike ergometer, with each stage lasting 2 to 3 minutes. The test runs to volitional failure or until termination criteria are reached.
Body Composition & Anthropometrics
Stand on the Seca platform barefoot. The scan takes under 60 seconds, using a low-level electrical signal to measure how different tissues conduct electricity. Height and segment lengths are recorded at the same time and used to contextualize every force and velocity output that follows.
Lean mass contextualized against force and speed outputs is more predictive of athletic potential than bodyweight alone. Segmental lean mass tells us whether there is a meaningful side-to-side deficit that predisposes to injury.

What You
Walk Away With.
Athlete Profile
All test results in one document. Force output, velocity profile, sprint splits, metabolic capacity, movement quality score.
Benchmark Comparison
Your results compared to sport and position norms, percentile rankings, and prior Onyx test data where applicable.
Training Zones
VBT zones, heart rate training zones, velocity loss targets, and load prescriptions derived from your data.
Priority Focus Areas
The top 2–3 physical qualities that, if improved, will have the greatest impact on your sport performance.
Your Results,
In One Place.
Your assessment results go straight into your Onyx Performance OS portal instead of a PDF you lose. Jump height, sprint splits, and body composition are tracked there and updated at every retest. The portal comes with your membership.
Continuous
Monitoring.
Most facilities with force plates use them for testing day only. We use ours every week. Onyx Protocol members get continuous monitoring on top of scheduled re-tests. The data flags drift before it becomes injury and surfaces gains before they show up on a stopwatch.
Force Plate Capture
Jump height, RFD, asymmetry index logged every training week. Trended in your Onyx Performance OS portal.
Core Re-Test
Velocity profile, sprint splits, body composition. Updated Client Report. ~9–11 per year.
Full Battery Capstone
All five assessment modalities re-run. Complete Priority Matrix reset. Year-over-year comparison.
Testing Options.
Full Assessment Battery
Complete athlete profile across all five testing modalities. Client Report with Priority Matrix. Required for all new members.
Book Your Assessment →Core Re-Test
Jump performance, force production, sprint speed, body composition. Updated Client Report. Included with every Onyx Protocol membership; available à la carte for everyone else.
Book Re-Test →Targeted Testing
Body composition ($50), motion analysis ($95), or metabolic assessment ($125). Select the test you need.
Book Testing →Assessment Is the Starting Point.
Once you have your numbers, training starts from them. Every membership at Onyx begins with the full assessment. Your results build the program.
