Your first month at Onyx

What to expect from the first free class to week four: how classes are built, how to read the app, and what changes first.

New members ask the same three questions: how hard is it, what should I do between classes, and when will I notice something. Here is what the first four weeks look like for most adults who start with us.

Week one: the free class and the account

Your first class is free and you don't need to be fit for it. The coach scales every piece. Before you leave you have an account in the app with your bookings, your check-in and a place to log how you felt.

Weeks two and three: the pattern

Strength on Monday and Thursday, power on Tuesday and Friday, conditioning on Wednesday and Saturday. Three classes a week is the sweet spot for most people; two is fine. Sleep and protein matter more than a fourth session.

Week four: what changes first

Technique and confidence change before the mirror does. Loads on the main lifts go up because you are coordinating better, not because you grew muscle yet: that comes in months two and three. If you want it tracked, book a body-composition scan; if you just want to train, don't.

The next step for this track:

Two questions route you to the right first step: a free class, a youth evaluation, an assessment or a call.
